Since my last post Soren has been home for almost 2 weeks now. I can't even tell you what a difference it has been. The past 6 months seems like forever ago. We have been enjoying seeing each other sooo much. What a difference to be able to wake up together, exercise together, run errands and eat meals together. We even went on a date to Coldstone last night (a weeknight!) together. This has been a much needed break for both of us. (I know baby will be changing things again real soon for us......)
Last week we really did just spend the whole week catching up on things together, but this week Soren has been hard at work looking for a job. Since my laptop is broken he has had the computer full time and which is why you haven't seen any new posts from me. He has been applying to lots of listings online and yesterday met with some headhunters who can possibly bring a job to him. We are really pretty open to anything. The only thing I have a strong opinion about is that if we stay in Washington I don't want to move out of our apartment. I am fine with moving to another state, but I have put so much work into our apartment and getting to know people that I would kinda like to enjoy it for a while. But I may not get a choice if the right thing comes along. We'll see.
We applyed for unemployment last week and I got on WIC. What a blessing that there are so many programs out there to help people in our situation! I hope we aren't forced to use them for long, but they really will help. I am still working part time for a week longer and that has been nice to have a small check coming in. Soren has also been doing some construction work with our bishop on the side. Besides job hunting, he has another CPA exam in about four and a half weeks that he will soon be cramming for. No job, but he sure is still busy. :)
As far as the baby goes I am 38.5 weeks and had a check up yesterday. I am dialated to a "good" 2 and almost totally effaced. She said he could come anytime, but I am hoping he'll wait until Mom gets here on the 12th. I have irregular contractions all day, but not much pain yet. Just pressure. Oh, and tons of edema. Definitely putting on water weight. Yay.
Here are a few photos Soren took of me on the phone at the beach on Sunday.

A New Twist in Life
As you may know from reading our blog, Soren has had quite the past nine months of work at Moss Adams here in Seattle. He had a really rough first few months of figuring out how to do his work and then busy season was definitely busy. To make things even more stressfull Moss Adams has not been untouched by the economy. They have been laying off several people a week since January and we knew we were in the pool they were choosing from.
Sooooo on Friday Soren had a performance review....and was let go. Yep we lost our job.
Its okay though. We actually feel really good about it. We knew this was a possibility and have been praying about it for the last few weeks. We are open to anything and realize that if we were meant to be at this job right now, we still would be. Soren has found out that he does not enjoy working for a CPA firm and probably will not be applying to any more of them. They let him go because they needed to cut back and didn't think the job was something he really enjoyed. And they were right. He worked really hard for them and shouldn't have been let go for any other reason. We aren't sure what he will be doing or where he'll work next. We aren't sure if we'll stay in Seattle or be moving somewhere else.
Financially we'll be okay for a few months and we did get some severance pay. It is weird to think that the job we moved up here for is no longer a reason to stay, but maybe there is another reason. We'll find out.
In the meantime I am SOOOOOO happy to have him home!!!! We spent half the day Friday and most of the day Saturday together and it was great. He is so much happier now too. I think it will be great for him to have a little time before the baby gets here to do some of the things he wants to do and hang out with me. Plus it will be fun to have him around when the baby is born and all of that. We are doing well and feel really blessed and calm. Just wanted to update everyone, but don't feel too bad for us. This will move us on to bigger and better things!

36 Weeks on Easter
Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a great Sabbath and fun Easter. We had a great day at church and spent the day hanging out together. We are getting really good at making the most of the time we get together.
I haven't posted in a long time but there isn't too much to report. Soren has been working about 70 hours a week and I have been working about 12. :) He has been working really, really hard and being so dilligent. The poor guy has no personal time whatsoever and spends whatever he does have trying to keep me company. Its been a really rough busy season for everyone in his industry and they have been laying a LOT of people off. So far we have made the cut, but we find out on Friday if we still have a job. Some days we pray that we will keep this one, and some days I am so fed up with it all I just pray that the right thing happens and mention I wouldn't mind having Soren home more. If we lose this job he definitely will be home more. Not sure if thats exactly what I want though. The best thing is that this is the last week of busy season!!!! We have a party at Soren's work to end it all on Wednesday and then he gets Thursday off!!!!!
This also means no more working Saturdays! We do have 2 more sections of the CPA exam to gear up for, but we are looking on the bright sides of things. :)
I have been doing pretty well at keeping busy. I really like my job at Gap and it has been a good distraction. I can tell I am getting more and more pregnant daily and feel a lot more like it. This past week I started swimming and that has been a fun new exercise that feels pretty good.
We have been going to a baby class once a week for the last month and I was lucky to find one close to Soren's work so he could come. It has been great! I am so thrilled with everything we have been learning and practicing there. I think it will be really helpful for me and for Soren, especially during labor. (yikes)
I had my baby shower this last month too. Some friends from the ward threw it for me and it was really fun! Everyone who came was super generous and kind. Thanks to all who came and contributed!
So now we are just gearing up for baby. I think I have almost everything all ready aside from the hospital bags being packed and all the food shopping. My mom is coming in on the 12th of May which is the day after I am due. I hope we felt right about the dates we picked. She'll stay for a week to help out and get me started. Soren's mom and sisters are coming the week after and it will be really fun to share with them. We are definitely looking forward to our Utah/St. George/Vegas trip at the end of July. We come in around July 18th so everyone mark their calendars! :)
Here are pictures from my shower and me at 36 weeks.
Aren't these cute desserts and treats?! They did a great job correlating with the baby's room.
